Odd behavior from my new Visiontek Ti-200/P4B266/ Win98se setup

On several occasions now when the system is first started up, there will be no display on the monitor. There are no extra beeps from the system, just the normal single one and it seems like bootup is happening normally, as indicated by the hdd led. There is just no display of it on the monitor...

How can a nic installation slow down bootup time

I went ahead and reinstalled Win98se, the latest Intel Chipset Utility and then the Intel Ultra ATA instead of the Application Accelerator and everything seems ok, sort of....... While the problem I described in my initial post seems resolved by the above action, something new has popped up...

Barrage of questions on P4B266/ 1.6a setup

Hi all- I finally got the rig together and now have a few questions about it. I installed the usb 2 bracket and attached it to the headers on the P4B266 and installed the driver for it. When I look in device manager under Universal Serial Bus Controllers this is what I see: ---Asustek USB...

Question on memory settings for P4B266/1.6a users

I just set up my rig and wanted to know what memory settings are good for this combo? I am running a stick of Crucial 2100. Also, there is a setting "sdram idle timer" with the following choices: infinite,0t,8t,16t, and 64t. Which of these settings are best. I am using the 1005 bios. Thanks

P4 Alpha is in my hands!!!! Will post results later!!

I am installing the P4 Alpha 8942 right now on an Asus P4B266/ Intel 1.6A and have had a difficult time of it. Is it normal for the motherboard to look a little bowed around the area where the Alpha is installed? When I look down the edge of the P4B266 it looks a little bowed where the Alpha is...

Big problems- Is it mobo or cpu or other...

Turns out it was the memory. I remembered I had a stick of Crucial ddr 2100 here for a rig I'm gonna build so I slapped it in there and it booted right up. I double checked the Corsair and put it back in and it failed to boot again, so it looks like the Corsair crapped out on me. What memory...

Canadian- All of the fans spin up when I turn power on: case, cpu hsf, vid card, everything. What do I put the mobo on in order to test as you suggest? Just put in the cpu, memory, and vid card and disconnect all of the drives, etc...?
