well i dunno u guys are the experts but after i changed the AGP speed from 8x to 4x in the BIOS and installed hotfix 9.3 everything is now working perfect....so it appears besides not knowing about the hotfix, the main problem was the AGP speed for some reason.....anyhow, thank u so much for...

another update, even though nobody seems to care....i switched my motherboard settings in the bios from AGP 8x to AGP 4x and installed hotfix 9.3.....now everything seems to be working ok for now, even firefox......but i am keeping my fingers crossed

so yeah it appears i spoke too soon....now not even 8.4 works....not even 9.2....they appear to work at first but once u start using the computer it just goes black and has to be rebooted...a big sigh as it appear i have to return the card and order something much older which is already proven...

just also tried hotfix 8.4, which also worked with the graphics card but the same exact problem with firefox....as soon as i use firefox the system blacks out and restarts...it's just bizarre i love firefox but i guess now i will have to starting using internet explorer....and going back to...

so the 8.12 hotfix did not work....any other ideas....even older? i dont get why newer version of older hotfixes dont already contrain the same fixes

i can't, windows instantly either freezes up or restarts as soon as it boots i cant do anything....damn but i just realized if i booted it in safe mode i would have been able to uninstall right?? also...if the card i ordered is AGP and i went to the website and found the card u are saying the...

what is CAT? the link u gave these are the drivers for the x1650 or i have to install this first then the 9.3 drivers?....i just reinstalled windows and followed the exact directions from the ati website with 9.3 and net framework and directx9c and it still freezes and restarts every time

also i have checked and the ATI website has 9.3 as the the only one available, which means i already tried 9.3 and it didn't work.....this sucks

so do i have to install directX 9 after i reinstall windows xp? and then after that install the 9.3 ati x1950 pro drivers? what is VIA too?? this is not the same as my ASUS a8v deluxe

what exactly are u talking about...what is 9.4 and 9.3....i haven't installed any directX i said i did a fresh install of windows and it still didn't work
