What controls Turbo Core in Xeons?

Assume the above modded bios will work MSI X99A Gaming 7 aswell? They list the latest firmware as 7885vHH2 here: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/X99A-GAMING-7.html Will give it a shot when I get some spare time

Question i5-5675c and GT3e reducing power of iGPU

The unit is sitting on a desk. There is nothing around it obstructing it. I do feel the chassis is reaching heat saturation but Streacom assure me it should take a 65w load with out any issues. In my testing it does apprar to take a 60w load for several hours and keep temps around 65c. As soon...

Question i5-5675c and GT3e reducing power of iGPU

The iGPU won't clock below 1100mhz in the bios... Can go all the way up to like 2500mhz, but can't go any lower :( I don't think the CPU clock is the issue at all here sadly. As a note, if i set any short term or long term power limitations (eg: limit it to 75w) i get crashing within 5mins...

Question i5-5675c and GT3e reducing power of iGPU

The chassis is getting warm (too hot to touch). Heat is moving from CPU/iGPU to chassis as it now takes ~1-2hrs at full tilt to go from ambient to 90c. Ambient temp is around 18-20c. During this time the iGPU is drawing ~60w and the CPU is drawing 15w for a total package power draw of ~75w. I...

Question i5-5675c and GT3e reducing power of iGPU

Hello forum! I hope this is the right forum as my issue relates mainly to the iGPU as opposed to the CPU. I am surprised this use case hasn't come up before, but i loooooove the i5-5675c and the performance from the GT3e graphics given this is now a 5 year old processor and still has one of the...

What controls Turbo Core in Xeons?

I've swapped CPU from a 2630v3 that was running flawlessly to a 2680v3 that is giving me BSOD with the error CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT. Does anyone know if the CPU could be faulty? I was running the -70-50-50 EFI, but switched to -50-50-50 to test as well and problem still occurs. Does anyone have...

What controls Turbo Core in Xeons?

Well copied the file across instead of just trying to load it and then run windows And it seems to have taken. Running the 705050 file as i was concerned -100 might be too much without being able to test it. i got +50 score in XTU and the cpu now idles around 670mv. surprised that lower volts...

What controls Turbo Core in Xeons?

Ok, i tried your v3_1005050.efi file, and i get the message: Xeon v3 All-Core Turbo Boost EFI Driver by C_payne v0.2 (dual cpu) It appears to load, and the result is identical to the v3 efi file. All core turbo works but voltages dont appear to be any lower (just monitoring these in hwinfo) and...

Thanks @P1ayboy And what are each of the numbers? 100 is -100mv on the cpu voltage... what are the other two? Much appreciated.

What controls Turbo Core in Xeons?

Ok so flashing the Bios IC directly works. I can run EFI.v3 and I can then log into Windows and confirm all core turbo works (+~20% gains in XTU)... However, I can't copy the EFI file to the boot drive. MSINFO32 tells me Windows is running in Legacy mode.... but i'm running on an NVME PCIEx4...

What controls Turbo Core in Xeons?

The Asrock X99 Extreme 4 has 2 socketable bios chips. Makes it easy to remove/update atleast. I have a Sofi SP16 at work I can borrow to try and flash. Wish me luck. :D
