    Intel Broadwell Thread

Question: Any chance we will see any of the 15W Broadwell Us in tablets? Seems Core M is a bit underpowered for my taste. I wish some manufacturers would actually build tablets with a copper case like the Intel Llama Mountain prototype...

Storage enclosure makes annoying buzzing sound

I had already connected it to a Master-Slave power box as a slave, but even if the master is OFF and Slaves are OFF due to it, it gives off this buzzing sound. Really weird. Was the last time I bought something Silverstone/Teratrend.

Storage enclosure makes annoying buzzing sound

I recently bought a Silverstone/Teratrend TS231U 3.5' 2xbay enclosure that exhibits a really annoying buzzing sound when turned OFF. Yes OFF! When you switch the power off on the front button it will start with the buzzing. The only solution is to pull the plug at the rear end. Anyone...

    RAID1 2-bay enclosure - dangerous?

I recently ordered a SilverStone Teratrend TS231U 2-bay enclosure, capable of RAID0/1/JBOD/normal mode. Planned to do 2x4TB in RAID1 mode mirrored. Read up on lots of horror stories of the RAID controller in these kind of boxes reconstructing the RAID from an empty & newly inserted HD if one...

    4670k overclocking

I have totally given up on Prime95 or Linpack, Burntest. I ran those all for 3hours+ each for my 4770K overclock to 4,4Ghz and of course they all passed, due to the increased voltage the cpu gets during stuff like this. When trying to play some games like Tom Clancy's Future Soldier (2012, not...

Benchmark list comparing really old & brandnew CPUs?

Great! Thanks. That Passmark list featured the Pentium M 1,5Ghz :)

Benchmark list comparing really old & brandnew CPUs?

Tried to find an all-encompassing master list that used the same benchmark over the years where you can clearly see FPU/prime/whatever benchmark performance progression. I know that CPU architecture from different ages and additions like AVX cannot truelly be compared against each other but I...

Alan Wake - PC "up in the air"??!

Yeah and then we get: "TOLD YA SO! See? We released this title only 1 year after all the console versions hit, with drakonian DRM, no LAN play and poor optimisation for PC and it didn't sell as much as we wanted!" Buuhuu! PC is dead.

Alan Wake - PC "up in the air"??!

Microsoft is slowly killing itself. If there is no reason to get a big desktop, there is no reason to buy the next shiny new Windows bloatware. Just use a console and a netbook with Chrome OS and Microsoft is out-of-the-picture. I wonder if this is a typical case of a big company acting...

Alan Wake - PC "up in the air"??!

UPDATE: A bit of bad news for those out there who are looking to play Alan Wake on the PC. Remedy recently confirmed that Alan Wake is currently in development for Xbox 360 only and that plans for a PC version are now entirely up to their publisher, Microsoft. ?Thank you for your continued...

    svchost.exe Vista 64-bit, 140MB+

Install XP or wait for Windows 7. Getting Vista to perform with <300MB is next to impossible. XP with little tweaking needs 99MB. I hope 7 can be tweaked as well.

Alan Wake - PC "up in the air"??!

well if WAKE has just a tiny bit of the TWIN PEAKS atmosphere. You know: Evil in the woods, forested mountains, always a little rainy, nice but totally crazy townsfolk, mysteries aplenty it would be the most atmospheric game ever. Regarding M$: Gaming is pretty much the only thing that makes...

Alan Wake - PC "up in the air"??!

Apparently Sam Lake from REMEDY has spoken and said that the PC version for ALAN WAKE is "up in the air". Source: EDGE http://www.edge-online.com/new...up-in-the-air%E2%80%9D They must be smoking some good stuff up there in the north. First they made some deal with M$ to make it VISTA...

No LAN play in Starcraft II?

too bad for all the engineers, soldiers and other gamers out in the field. Try to log onto Battlenet from the desert sands of *insert random brown people nation with lots of oil and little military might*

    LucasArts on Steam

Fate of Atlantis probably is THE BEST point-and-click adventure out there (together with MonkeyIsland2) You steer Indy with the mouse, have several key verbs to interact with the world and can choose 3 basic paths to complete the game. Either as a team with Sophia Hapgood, alone with your...
