Early AM2+ boards might use the SB600.

AMD 690G does not support Vista 64-bit with 4gb ram?

I am sorry I cannot say the same. I got a system running as a htpc, and the recording and watching the telly may kill it three times a night. Had to MSconfig it, and it was running happily again. The system is due for a MSI mobo, I will post back if the MSI mobo runs fine.

AMD 690G does not support Vista 64-bit with 4gb ram?

If you remove the Nvidia gfx and uninstall the drivers for it, do the board work with the integrated gfx? The creative x-fi should work with 64bit Vista, if you use the correct driver, but those blue screens of terror are hard to diagnose. Removing it running the board naked, exposing them...

AMD 690G does not support Vista 64-bit with 4gb ram?

I got one working 8gb rig, and two running gigabyte rigs, waiting to hear the RMA train. I had one harddrive with a clean install, only vista, ATI drivers, and that MS patch. It was originally installed on a Gigabyte board. This harddrive worked flawless with the MSI board. Switching it...

AMD 690G does not support Vista 64-bit with 4gb ram?

Happy for you! My HTPC rig is not quite stable yet, but it uses a TV card notorious for a 2gb vista issue. Please post back in a while to let us know if your system is running long term fine. That bios date makes me wonder what Gigabyte is up to. Maybe the tech guys are not that bad at...

AMD 690G does not support Vista 64-bit with 4gb ram?

The K9AG Neo2 Digital works flawless with 8gb using that wacky msconfig hack. Something Gigabyte can only dream of, even with the latest bios. My HTPC, which still runs the gb board, is not stable with the latest bios update. It froze three times yesterday. This might be related to the TV...

AMD 690G does not support Vista 64-bit with 4gb ram?

I have to use this freaking hack to run the MSI board using 8GB. The blue screen of terror is haunting me otherwise. Not that sure about 32bit beeing enforced by 4gb. This hack really is wacky.

    uATX Update

Stil not stable with 8GB, even with MSconfig. The bios did help, but not enough. Any issues running your rig with 4gb?

    uATX Update

Thanks for the heads up. This bios seems to work with 4gb. It dates back to october 8th. Kind of makes one wonder, doesn´t it? The issue is fixed silently, with no recognition of the issue what so ever. I got four boards waiting for RMA, and were forced to get replacement boards in...

Who has the best onboard IGP?

It is reviews like these that make up the 690g reputation: http://www.hardocp.com/article...wxLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA== Some sites test the integrated GFX. http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/abit_m2hd/ Look at the latter link, and you will find that even if the 690g beats the 7050pv...

Who has the best onboard IGP?

AMD got issues with 4GB RAM or more. If you ever plan to use more than 2GB RAM, and you should if you use Vista, then steer clear of AMD like a plague.

    uATX Update

If the boards were complete from a test viewpoint, and should have been posted long ago, what happend? Is the 64bit issues are killing this article?

AMD 690G does not support Vista 64-bit with 4gb ram?

There is no difference running 2 or 4 sticks. It is the board that is at fault, or maybe these sticks of memory do not work. Try lowering the memspeed a notch, increase the voltage slightly, or ease the timings, or all of these tricks. Have you tried the MSconfig hack? If that works...

    uATX Update

690G boards have been around for a while. Most boards do not work with 4gb and Vista64bit. Now there are three scenarios I do not quite get: 1. The ATX MSI board works with 8gb. That kind of kills the driver is at fault, or what? 2. Lets imagine the makers are not aware of the issue...

AMD 690G does not support Vista 64-bit with 4gb ram?

Working rigg found! I have teste these boards first hand: Asus M2A-VM HDMI mATX Asus M2A-VM mATX Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H mATX Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H ATX None of them work with 8gb, and some with the MSconfig hack by 4gb. I had low expectations for the --------------------------- MSI...
