Thanks all for the feedback. I have gone ahead and ordered the parts.
Regarding the SSD caching -- Maybe I will try this, maybe not. I do have a spare 120GB SSD (intel cherryville I think?) and a platter drive, so I could give it a go. What software it used to enable this? (I can probably...
Thanks for the suggestions!
I am going to get an Z97m-plus mobo instead.
I have NAS based backup already, and some platter drives not listed.

With your feedback my last build (from 5-6 years ago!) worked out great until now.
Time to build another :)
Goals:
#1 Cool and Quiet. I do not want a roaring PC under my desk
#2 Great single threaded performance with plenty of threads for multitasking and virtualization
#3 Plenty of RAM...
Sorry, I guess I was referring to the 620hx. But strictly power wise... the 520 would be enough with 4 sticks of ram (8GB), 9800 GTX, 1 hard drive, OCed processor (Phenom II x4)?
Thanks for all of the suggestions.
Do you all think that the 520hx would be enough for my build? Or should I go with the 650 one?
Regarding Crossfire/SLI/etc... I don't think I will ever do it, plus I have heard some weird issues with ATI drivers and WoW, so I'm sticking with nvidia.
Thanks for these suggestions --
Along the AMD lines... If I am overclocking is having 2 ram kits (4 sticks) going to significantly impact my upper limit? Also, back in the S939 days low ram latency on ram was quite significant, is that no longer the case?
Here is my updated config:

I posted somewhat recently on the forums, thinking I was going to gut my current computer and upgrade the major parts. But I got thinking, and I realized that all the noise it makes is starting to annoy me too-- so I am researching building a system from scratch.
1. What YOUR PC will be used...
Thanks for the feedback on the PSU, harddrives, vista, and pointing out possible issues with WoW and the ATI card. Even if those issues have been resolved, I would like to avoid any possible ones :-)
I am now looking at the 9800 gt for graphics instead of the 4850. Thanks for the suggestion...
I have had similar experiences after transporting a computer... In my case my power supply died. It sounds like your computer is booting, so it is at least getting through all the initial diagnostic stuff and POSTing. I would play around with your configuration and see if you can get it to boot...
Just to firm up a few points:
* My current power supply should have the output connector I need? It looks like my current mobo has 2x10 pin power supply connection. My power supply has some unused 2x2 connectors as well, I assume these would combine together for the needed 24pin...
1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
Primarily for World of Warcraft and some web-browsing/e-mail. Will be running up to 2 wow clients simultaneously (multi-boxing on a single system).
2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as...
