I own an LG Combo Drive( GCC-4521BB). It's a 52X32X52X16 CD R/W Burner and a DVD-ROM drive. Works like a charm. Newegg has it for $39 + $3.50 shipping.
Frickea86,
My system has been golden since I did the HACK. I haven't had a single problem! Just do a search for my posts in this forum. There aren't that many and most of them were to this thread.
I get my 2 SATA drives today and get to install them in RAID 0...MORE SPEED!
Are you sure you're reflashing your video card BIOS after making the change?
Here's my little guide for how to backup, HACK, and reflash your NVIDIA 6800 video card BIOS.
First thing you need is a floppy bootdisk.
Download the driver-free one from bootdisk.com...
You shouldn't have to run that RAM single channel. Have you tried backing off the timing? On my Kingston (also using a Neo 2 Plat) I'm running 2-3-10-3 1T You may need to go 2.5-3-10-3 1T (or slower)
Give it a shot. You lose a lot of performance running single channel.
You're running a 6800 Ultra on a 3500+, 2GB RAM...5120 is a normal score for that setup.
I'm running a 6800 Ultra on a 3500+, 1GB RAM and get 5050.
Not sure what RampantAndroid is on about...he says he's got an almost identical setup. He's got an FX-53...I hope he scores 5300-5500...you...
I tried RivaTuner and Coolbits and, yes, they change the clocks but it's via software. They do not change the hardware settings. They did not work for me. I had the same issues you listed above. The BIOS hack was the only thing that worked. It been 10 full days of gaming DELIGHT! NO crashes...
I'm a native English speaker but Danes normally make a word plural by adding 'er' to the end of a word. My wife is Danish and she says "LEGO klods" is singular. (They don't normally just call it a LEGO...it's LEGO brick) She says "LEGO klodser" is the plural (LEGO bricks). She says she has...
The Leadtek has a great PVR that lets you connect to a website (www.titantv.com) and click and schedule which shows to record. It is free! You can only do this from the machine that has the TV-card in it -- the website interacts directly with the PVR software.
Apparently TitanTV.com has...
The external cable has left and right audio IN RCA jacks. There is an internal audio connector on the TV-card (like on a CD-ROM drive) that you connect to your sound card internally. In the software you just choose which "channel" the sound is found (CD/Aux-in/etc.)...depends which internal...
I've moved back and forth from the U.S to/from Europe several times and can say that I have yet to buy a PC in the States that does not have a dual voltage power supply. The power supplies have a switch on the back to switch it from 110/220 volts. I have noticed that quite a few power supplies...
I had a pixel stuck on on my laptop screen and I "flicked" it (like you do to a paper football). It came back to life and has been fine for over a year.
Maybe it was luck...who knows...
I own the Zalman 5.1 headphones and I think they're great. Playing Doom 3, I CAN tell if something is behind me. From what I can tell these headphones do not have JUST 2 speakers in them. There are 3 jacks used to plug them in (Front, Center, Rear). There are small speakers offset to the...
