Yea it was the jumpers, set them both to cable select and it worked normally, YAY! But It took some damn work to get my HD working to install win98. Thanks for the help guys.

Yea thats my plan for tonight remove all the cards and drivers and see what I get. Maybe clear the cmos again. The chip is running about 38-40c idle. Im using a volcano9 with artic silver3, and the fan is running at about 3800rpm using the heat sensor.

Hey after I got to mess with it last night I figgured it out. You should have some doublesided thermal tape that came with the vol9, cut a strip off and place it diagonally on the bottom of the chip and stick the probe to it. Was working fine for me after that.

Heh good question, I was searching for clues into this as well. I wasnt able to find any solid answer yet it seems like they just have the sensor stuck under there, but theres no way to make sure its making contact with the cpu.

Yea, Im definately going for the XMS, should I get the 2700 or the 3200? I wasnt sure if the 400mhz Ram would be wasted using the 2400+ chip, but its only 10 bucks more so i dont see why it would hurt at all.

Right now Im looking at an XP 2400+, would spending the extra 100$ for the 2600+ be worth it for the 333 bus?? Also the ram im looking at is Corsair XMS 2700 or 3200, is the 3200 a better idea with either of these chips? Thanks for any input.
