    Dust filter for PC case?

    How does this affect the air flow? I would expect it to be cut down quite a bit. I might rather clean the dust out every once in a while than warm up my computer, as it already runs too hot.

    I have tried a different power supply, and the computer didn't reboot, but it did give me the errors extracting files and random program glitches.     You might try cleaning all the dust off of everything first. It is a pain in the ass, but with a few q-tips and some alcohol it can be done fairly easily. Also, check to see that the thermal paste has not dried up on your heatsink. If it is a retail P2, that is more trouble than it is worth...

    Dirt Old PC Problem....

    Some of those old packard bells used really weird CD-ROMs with proprietary DOS drivers. Try replacing his old cd-rom with a generic one and trying the setup again. If that doesn't work, put the hard drive in another machine and copy the OS install files to it and you should be ready to go.
