Monitor has small blue lines on white (HP LP2475w)

Ok, just realized that the adapter isn't just a recabling, but also requires circuitry, guess a cheapo one will make a difference. I'll go buy an apple brand one tomorrow, see if that makes any difference.

Monitor has small blue lines on white (HP LP2475w)

Hey, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I do need all those adapters/cables because there are almost no displays that have a Mini-DP/Thunderbolt input. I think it's a pretty standard Mac setup. I tried with two different adapters (admittedly neither of them are apple brand) and they both had...

Monitor has small blue lines on white (HP LP2475w)

I recently purchased a new monitor (HP LP2475w) and from time to time these odd blue lines appear on anything that is white (and a couple of other shades of gray). It only appears when there is anything dark to the left of the white area. The strange thing is also that it isn't always there, it...

    Book on parallel programming

Ok, in that case I had a different understanding of what parallel programming is about. I guess the area that I would be most interested in is HPC, not too big on the whole graphics thing. Can anyone recommend a book on HPC then? I see that O'reilly used to have a book called High Performance...

    Book on parallel programming

Thanks for the replies @Cogman: I had an undergrad class in computer engineering and we used just that book, so I know what deadlocks, semaphores, etc.. are. I pretty much know all the theory of how to properly implement something once you know what you want to do. I want a book that will...

    Book on parallel programming

Hey, I'm looking for a book/guide on parallel programming. I had a quick look through "Java, concurrency in practice" and it seemed like a good book, but it is too focused on "how to make sure that things work" rather than "how to implement conventional things in parallel and what the...

What encryption algorithms profit most from hardware implementations

You're right, I wasn't very clear. Thank you for your response, I guess I will have to spend some time thinking about a possible implementation.

What encryption algorithms profit most from hardware implementations

Thanks for the replies. I was more referring to how you would spot that you have decoded the text correctly given that you don't know what the decoded text should look like?

What encryption algorithms profit most from hardware implementations

Did a quick search and this is what I found http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-advanced-encryption-standard-instructions-aes-ni/ "AES-NI can be used to accelerate the performance of an implementation of AES by 3 to 10x over a completely software implementation." I've read other...

What encryption algorithms profit most from hardware implementations

Don't know if this is the right forum, but the Security forum seemed to be a worse fit. Anyways, my university is allowing us to design our own ASIC and will have it produced for us. So I'm trying to come up with an idea for what I could make and I was thinking it would be fun to make an ASIC...

    Is the suns energy enough?

The title may be slightly misleading, but this is what I'm wondering about: I watched a documentary yesterday called "Home" and they stated the following: "In one minute the sun delivers enough energy to the earth to feed all of humanities energy requirements for a whole year". Im not sure what...

    What multimeter

Thanks for the suggestions and tips. Anyone have any experience with the EX330 or the Fluke 115? they seem to be able to do about the same thing, one just being about half the price of the other?

    What multimeter

Thanks for the heads up, do you have an suggestion for a specific Velleman?

    What multimeter

This is probably the wrong forum, but i wasnt sure where else to post. Anyways im planning to aquire a digital multimeter, but have no clue what to get. Im an electical engineering student, so i dont need it for any professional work, i just thought it was about time that i get one, I still want...
