    If you are able to ping the router, yahoo, etc the device has an ip address, the router is allowing traffic from that pc out and back. I would check the configuration of the browser and compare it to a known good configuration (machine that is currently working)

    After re reading your post a few times and figuring that you have in fact tired using just the bare min needed to boot, the fact that you dont get any beep code leads me to believe that it just might be the CPU. Do you have a squeaker hooked up to hear any beep codes?
