Just as a default measure I restarted the DD-WRT so that it was in default. Linked it directly to the xbox and connected to the router directly via wireless on my mac. Thus no intermediate between the Xbox and the Mac except the DD-WRT. Had the exact same outcome. This doesn't make sense really...
