    Well, following Indyboy2's advice, I tried a quick format and I get a message saying that Windows could not format the unit, probably because it is damaged and to try with another hard drive. So, is it definitively a hard disc problem ?

    3200+ Venice VS. 3700+ San Diego

    Apart from the different clock speed, they aslo have different L2 cache. The 3200+ has 512Kb while the 3700+ has 1Mb. However, the cache size doesn't make a really big difference.
