    If you mean in Windows' Speaker settings under the audio control panel. No, it's configured for stereo headphones, since I rarely ever have anything but headphones plugged in to listen to sound. Edit: And the SoundMax Control panel also says Stereo Headphones, so definitely not set up for 5.1

    Ermm, last I checked the Asus A7V8X-X was a Via KT400 chipset based motherboard. If it were Nvidia based it'd be A7N8X not A7V8X. As for the Bios, yes, I set the AC97 Audio controller to auto, and turned on the midi support in the BIOS. That's really all there is as far as sound support...
