*sigh* well I guess its gone then because there is definitely something broken in the drive....I'm thinking maybe it was a head crash, but in any case I can't pay thousands to get it restored I just thought of the next big money maker product somebody needs to invent: A "hard drive protector"...

I was changing the master/slave and channel configuration of my drives in order to improve performance, and when I booted back up, my quantum fireball plus AS 20.5GB made 2 loud click sounds, paused, and then 4 loud click sounds and was not detected by the BIOS! I did not handle the drive at all...
