Dual Rail vs Single Rail for Nforce 4 - My Results

Just a quick post to let you all know my results. I have a A8N-SLI board running a 6800GT, an AMD 64 3200, 2x512mb OCZ PC4400, 2 optical drives, 1 floppy, 2 raptors, and one Maxtor diamond max 10. I originally had the Antec Neopower 480 and was having no luck on a decent overclock. I...

    *** Official ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe (nForce4) Thread ***

I think you are right. There is a problem with the 1004.01 bios in relation to the HTT multiplier. I ran at 1:1 memory CPU multi x 10 and HTT x4 and could not oc over 232mhz. However on earlier bios versions I could get up to 240 @ 1T. Aibooster and bios says x 4 but I think its actually x5...

Which memory do I go with for my system?

ermm no its not. memory bandwith is much more important for most apps especially gaming. If you have a system running at HTT260 x 10 with memory at 220, a system at 260 x10 1:1 is much faster. There is the problem that you cant go over 250mhz at 1T at the moment but hopefully it gets fixed by a...

what psu for a8n-sli deluxe is everyone using?

OK, lets sort this argument out once and for all. I have a Neopower 480 and a mildly overclocked A8N-SLI. It wont go over 2350mhz Prime stable. Now most people say its the PSU's fault. I must say that I do get some problems on a cold start which points to the PSU. The Neopower is...

Which memory do I go with for my system?

Go for the 3200 CPU. As for memory the OCZ PC4400 Gold or Corsiar PC4400. These will guarantee you memory clocks of 275mhz but they do go further. If you dont plan on overclocking go for OCZ PC3200 Platinum Revison 2 or Corsail PC3200XL as these have tighter timings low down.

New official bios release for A8N-SLI

If you up the volts in bios and dont use AIbooster you can actually get higher volts than before. Before the max I could get was 1.52 but at the moment I am using 1.58. However if I make a adjustment in AIbooster to any settings it shifs the voltage back down. So do your overclocks in bios only.

    * ASUS A8N-SLI experiences/results/issues

Hi, Need some help. Just got my new ram OCZ PC4400 Gold. Tested each stick at 240mhz 1T and both are fine. When I try dual channel I get errors at lower speeds. Am I right in thinking that its not a ram issue as the both test fine on their own. If so any ideas? Or is it the Mobo or CPU (wonky...

A8N-SLI Deluxe: many defective boards identified

Well I agree with you too. I have asked a few times to know what exactly is powered by each rail and it seems that its only the CPU on one of the neopowers rails - the 15amp one. I am not sure if this is correct and from what ASUS and Antec were saying this also supplies the mobo as well as the...

A8N-SLI Nvidia raid vs silicon image raid

Sounds good to stick with nvidia then. But I also heard that the unapproved nvidia drivers for this caused problems with stability. I didnt think i needed them as it says nvidia 'ide drivers' but I am sure I saw somewhere that you needed these for the nvidia raid.

A8N-SLI Nvidia raid vs silicon image raid

Do you really need raid 1. I have a 3rd sata drive that I use to backup my raid array. i do this once a week. But the thing is, I like to overclock, and if i get a corrupt file on the hard disk through overclocking, raid 1 will just duplicate the error across both drives and would be pointless...

A8N-SLI Nvidia raid vs silicon image raid

Mine are on Nvidia raid and work fine, I might swap them as there may be stability issues. To get the nvidia raid to work you have to enable raid in Nvraid in the bios. then set up your raid array. then when you set up xp have a floppy with the drivers on it.
