Ok, here we have weirdness on so many levels it's just wrong... I just pulled the card out, and seated it in the pci slot next to it... TAAAAHHHH DAAAAHHHH we have sound. I'm thinking what the heck... but thanks for the advise and help everyone :P
wav volume is fine, on high actually, the sound card is old enough that win 98 actually has the driver for it, but just for good measure i downloaded and installed the one that creative had on thier site.
I don't even have the sounds of Windows loading, these are just default sounds that you would hear say if you closed or min. your explorer window. There are no sounds from the computer at all.
Yes, it does see it in the device manager, and there are not any problems with it, the card was working just fine before I formatted the drive... the speakers work... checked those a minute ago, and everything seems to be in place, just no sound.
I just put together a computer for my daughter to play her games on, but the sound card isn't working on it. I am using a Sound Blaster AWE64 with OS Win 98se. I have downloaded the drivers from Creative, and the sound card is still not producing any results.... what am I doing wrong?????
