    Ivy Bridge Motherboard Recommendation

Well, there's this UD5H for $135 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813128545R Then there's a jump to this UD5H for $180 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128545 What would be the difference between these two? The cheaper one doesn't have any reviews at all. The...

    Ivy Bridge Motherboard Recommendation

Hello, Sales are looming over the horizon and I'm planning on doing a new computer build. I admit I don't know much about motherboards so I'll just ask for advice on what to get. The basics of what's going to go along with the motherboard are: Intel Core i7-3770 3.4GHz Nvidia GTX 660...

    Help in picking a motherboard

Around $150 would be good. Just like the motherboards I provided there. Anything around $200 seems to be overkill given I'm not even going to utilize any high end utilities or even overclock it.

    Help in picking a motherboard

Any other input? Mainly, I just want input about the Sandy/Ivy bridge issue. If getting a motherboard specifically designed for IB will be important to fully utilizing the new IB processors. I've got more information about this future build. Probably gonna use 8GB of RAM i5 2500 processor...

    Help in picking a motherboard

Waiting for Ivy Bridge could be an option if it's really that necessary but since IB is backwards compatible, I don't see why I should. I'm gonna probably switch into an IB processor with this new motherboard once IB matures a bit more after its release.

    Help in picking a motherboard

Hey, I just need help selecting a motherboard. I'm not too knowledgeable on the technicalities. I know Ivy Bridge is going to be compatible with current Sandy Bridge motherboards but when Ivy Bridge comes out next year are there going to be new things that only Ivy Bridge designed...

    500w enough for this system?

9800* I'll research about this new video card. Thanks. The PSU, I'll still look into a new one at some point regardless. If they pretty much have the same power consumption, then it's not too bad since this PSU is still relatively new. It powers my current system fine.

    500w enough for this system?

It's only seen half a year's usage, so it's still relatively new. But I've actually had this for about 1 and a half years. (I was away from my computer for a year due to college) Can anything bad happen if I test my chances and use this PSU with the 550 Ti? Say it's not actually 500w.. will it...

Jumpers and Headers on mobo (first time assembling)

How does one go about doing that? Do I just pull on the cable until it's free and then I just basically shove it into the middle slot?

Jumpers and Headers on mobo (first time assembling)

Okay, thanks. Lastly, the Power LED. http://i.imgur.com/xppHd.jpg http://i.imgur.com/8EACs.jpg It takes up 3 pins. In the manual it says that it should only take up 2 pins. It can't fit because the power on button is taking up space. Is there any way to circumvent this? Or will I forever...

Jumpers and Headers on mobo (first time assembling)

Hello, Sorry if it's in the wrong forum - I dunno if it goes in motherboard or computer help..? Anyway. It's my first time assembling a PC from scratch and I'm confused on the jumpers and headers on my motherboard. The motherboard is an EMAXX P43...

    Laptop not starting up

Yeah I've done that. Switching the battery in and out. Before hand, I actually used the laptop without the battery most of the time because it just stayed in my dorm for most of the week. So it just ran straight from the plug. Edit: I think it's a major hardware failure cause I just noticed it...
