im working on in that particular machine, and i think that by now the compound is set so if i remove it it WILL need replacement, however, i set the stuff to agresive and its working beautifuly at 49c. il try messing with the cas freq and cpu later when i dont have to like turn out school jobs...

like peel off the heatsink, since it wasnt used it was still maleable so i figured it was ok, but now that i see the temp's i dont know if i sould replace it. is 59c ok for barton?

i used the Asus gf2 MX 400 32mb - heatsink no fan - for 25.99 shipped in a rig i build 3 months ago and it ok. output was bad and speed was awefull, if you work on your machine dont get it. get a 50-70 card
