After installing the latest geforce driver from nVidia for my videocard, my monitor goes into standby right after logging into Windows. I am forced to reboot in Safe Mode and uninstall the driver. Any ideas??? I've already tested other monitors and previous drivers!

I've noticed that a few days after installing Windows Vista, the OS stops remembering folder view settings. At one time I have Medium view" setting icons for the Control Panel window, and the next time I open it, its icons are on "Details view" setting.
This problem happens with every window...
It used to work, now. After testing my video card with another computer, this computer now has the same problem as mine. Could my card be damaging motherboards it's attached to?
OK I`ve tested another video card, now the computer turns on but there is no post.
