Before it all started the pc was left in stand by for a couple of days. Suddenly the blinking of that position had stopped and I could not start it. Removing it from the ac-outlet for a couple of minutes called it back alive (the psu) for 5-10 sec when reconnected to ac.

AS far as I Can see the psu is started when the green wire is shortly grounded, but as soon as the psu stops the green wire returns to 5v. Who / what keeps this spot at 0v until the next pulse is given to go stop?
No click is heard when hitting the switch.
Will it harm anything if i shortcut (grounded) the green wire on the motherboard connector to rule out possible malfunction of the start switch?
