The noise is specifically from the fan spinning faster; the fan is not going bad. This first thing I did when I opened up my case was to check for excess dust buildup. There was a small amount of expected dust, but no bunnies. Of course, I took a can of air to it, but the fan sped did not correct.

Hello, I have an Ultra X-finity 600 power supply. In the manual, under "connector distributions", it states the existence of a fan connector, but I did not see it in the cabling. Every other connection is present. Any other X-finity owners have the same issue?

i'm having major issues with this board as well. finally updated from shipping bios to 0602. if i uninstall the ati drivers (i.e. use just the the "vga compatible"), the machine is rock solid. i've tried every catalyst version from 7.2-7.5, and they always cause freeze/reboot issues usually...

It's possible (and probable since retail will ship with both physical disks) your key will work on 64 or 32-bit. In that case, you could just get your hands on the other bits and use your key legitimately. I'll leave it up to you on how to get those bits.
