I'm disappointed in the ray tracing capabilities of the 6800 XT. In many cases, my 2080 super is faster at 1440. Oh well, I guess I will hold out for a 3080 in March of 2021.
It's pretty easy to be frustrated with the inability to buy a 3080. Like many in this forum, I too was vigorously refreshing vendor pages the fateful day of launch, and got so far as checkout before I was given the "I'm sorry, the item you are buying is no longer available". Now, I'm enduring...
Yes, I understand that a pure ssd would be faster. However, my question was comparing the spinner to the hybrid.
It would normally be no contest in favor of sshd, but oddly, they pair it with a 5400 rpm drive... Bringing the performance margin closer.
So, you still think the sshd...
Interested in maximum performance for my steam drive. 2tb.
Wd black is the fastest traditional hd, but the wd blue sshd numbers look as fast or faster.
Comparable cost between the two.
Thoughts / experiences with either?
Thanks.
As a relatively new MSI 4G Gaming 970 owner purchased from NewEgg, I've been pondering this situation for several weeks now.
Clearly, while performance in today's benchmarks are what they are, it's the future proofing aspect of the misrepresentation that bothers me.
290X is not an option for...
Unbelievable sound. Best earphones I've ever owned. Soundstage is amazing. Less tinny than the S4's.
No problems, yet, with build quality.
I just can't understand how they get this much sound definition from such a small driver.
A bit puzzled by this comment, as my old 5870 ran 5760x1080 fairly well in BF2 and other FPS games.
It could be that I am just not as much of a power user as you, but the 7870 (plus mild overclocking) exceeds 7950 speeds. For single card solutions, these are among the fastest.
For $180 (what...
I received my card yesterday. All is well...running 1150/1325 no issues at stock voltage.
Played BF3 online last night (on high graphics setting, 5760x1080 eyefinity 3x1) for a hour or so...had 3 lockups. Not sure if this is related to the overclock, or to Battlefield 3.
I ran the BF3 FPS...
Yes, I understand that I can do it with two adapters. Those adapters are not cheap.
My question, though, is why isn't there an active DP ---> HDMI cable or connector?
I my case, there is a big reason...Eyefinity 1x3.
My monitors only have HDMI and VGA. With Eyefinity, one output must come through an active DP connection.
I don't want to go through the conversion to analog VGA and lose the two way, digital nature of the connection.
So, I'd need an active...
So, we all know that for Eyefinity to work with 3 or more monitors, at least one must be either running via a pure displayport connection, or an ACTIVE conversion from displayport to VGA or DVI.
However, what I find strange is that there is NO mention of ACTIVE displayport to HDMI on AMD's...
