    Podcasting Software ?

Is all podcasting software about the same? I'm browsing a few podcast sites, but it's not clear whether they all offer access to the same meta-data for searches.

Alright, tv-out enabled, now it is black and white!!!

If you guys use a cable like these ones, be sure to use as short a cable as possible. These cables are a "hack" that will end up reducing video quality quite a bit. If the card has a composite video output on it, you will be much better off just using it directly and avoiding S-Video, as the...

Alright, tv-out enabled, now it is black and white!!!

Let me be more clear. You can place a 470 pF capacitor inline with the Chrominance signal (pin 4) and then combine. But, the video quality is going to look like crap. If you want to plug S-Video into a Compoiste (ie. RCA) plug, there are some very cheap (powered) adapters that will do a...

Alright, tv-out enabled, now it is black and white!!!

Not properly there aren't. S-Video -> RCA adapters were created for long cable runs so that you can extend the video signal on two RCA cables and re-combine on the other end back to S-Video. You cannot just combine these two signals and expect to have a proper color video signal.

Alright, tv-out enabled, now it is black and white!!!

S-Video is a type of component signal. It is also referred to as Y/C, where Y stands for luminance (the B&W signal) and C stands for chrominance (the color). The 4 pins in an S-Video cable are signal+ground for each of these. An S-Video -> RCA adapter should provide two RCA plugs, one with a...

    problem with p2p

I'd suggest you download an application like TCPView and look at the sockets that are being opened on your computer. Or, use P2P software that only lets you open sockets with your friends, not with strangers.

new to P2P..help me get started please...

I'd suggest that you evaluate some of the next-generation technologies that let you chat, blog & share privately with your friends and interest groups. If you have to think *really* hard about possible legal uses for the software you're installing, you should probably avoid it.

U.S. Government Begins Shutting Down P2P Networks with multistate Raids

There are plenty of legal uses for P2P technology if you think about it. Imagine having software that only connected you with people you knew, kind of like extending your network neighborhood out around your friends. With something like this, you could share private files, photos, etc. The...

What program do you use for legal P2P?

Why would you want to use spyware-ridden software for legal P2P sharing?

Is using P2P software totally illegal?

Agreed. We're working on software which restricts sharing only to your closest friends and protects you from strangers. This type of sharing (via P2P) is one of the only ways that blogging, photo sharing, file sharing, etc. will reach the masses. The old kind of P2P (anonymous, mass scale) is...

    Qnext rocks.

I think it's still around. But, it was a bear to setup and administer. At imeem, we are creating a similar, encrypted p2p network for communication. We're also encrypting chat conversations and provide a private blogging environment, with hooks to post to outside blogs if desired. This kind...

What are some good arguments advocating p2p file sharing

I think when you limit sharing to a close group of friends (instead of strangers), it gets more interesting. It's basically like extending your network neighborhood out around a few select friends. This makes it safe enough to share files that you would never want out on a public sharing network.
