Well, disabling PLL overvoltage certainly seems to have made a difference. Been folding strong for 7.5 hrs. I'm really curious about the technical relationship (if any) between this setting and the number of PWM fans running.

The box has been running at idle all day without problems, so to this point it has only frozen when running at full load since adding the new fan. And thinking back to how it instantly rebooted when applying full load with fans at max, it makes me think it's a voltage setting in the the BIOS...

CPU fan on push side is plugged into CPU_FAN. CPU fan on pull side is plugged into CHA_FAN1. Both are 4 pin PWM fans, and both headers are 4 pin. All other fans are connected to Molex straight from the PSU.

You are not kidding right there. I'd like some of those Denons too. Right now I use AKG K601. Looks like I'm due to perform surgery on my Headroom Micro Amp. Got a loose jack in there, and damn sure don't want to have to drop $1000 on that Benchmark DAC-1 I want so badly. :sneaky:

My impression is that this would affect more like 100% of board owners using SATA II ports... eventually. Depends on how fast you burn through the faulty component, but every board has the flaw.
