Run a repair from 7's install disc at least, will probably find the installation and patch up the boot files.

Verbatim (aka Mitsubishi if importing from Japan) all the way, only 2 bad discs in 3+ years of burning hundreds, and both of those were RE that had had quite a few rewrites.

Are you "safely removing" it from the tray after use? Not so important if just reading from the drive during that session, but writes are likely to cause corruption if you just pull it out, even a few minutes after activity.

Yeah but they'd need to be on the same network to realistically keep in sync - thus almost certainly the same building. So both are then equally vulnerable to freak accidents like power surges, fire, flood, or attack via internet. I have a tertiary copy of critical personal data offsite...
