It really depends on the hardware one has. If one has a 64-bit processor (whether it be a newer Pentium 4/Celeron D or a C2D) it just makes sense to get the 64-bit version of Vista, otherwise, if one plans on keeping one's 32-bit hardware awhile (e.g. just purchased a notebook with a Core Duo)...
