I'm not sure why you would need ddr2-1066 RAM for the Q6600. Especially if you are not overclocking. Unless you thought the 1066 FSB meant you needed 1066 RAM. Even 533 MHz RAM would have been suitable if you weren't overclocking.

I sure hope they can get something out since now there's no reasonable alternative to the e8400 or Q6600.

The only way a 2.3 GHz Phenom would be faster than the E7300 would be when all three cores are utilized. Not only would the E7300 have an IPC advantage, they would also be higher clocked. I wouldn't doubt OEMs eating them up though.

Can you use two 3870X2's in crossfire? Are the drivers out?
