I have had nothing but problems with dell, for myself and my family. A dell laptop I had way back when got a crack in the motherboard when it dropped from about 10 inches high because of the crappy design which puts double the stress on the mobo if the thing falls on its power connector. Then...
I have a XFX 6800GT AGP and it has run really well so far. I wish I could take my core a little further (400 would be nice just to say ultra speeds lol), but I have never owned an eVGA card so I can't say anything about their quality.
My specs are in my profile, and the only thing i really did besides change the FSB is make HHT multiplier 4x and raise the v-core to 1.475 volts. Stock cooling and such. you shouldn't have to worry about the HHT multi, or v core if you are only taking up a small amount. Just keeping stepping...
My winnie 3000+ is running rock soild on stock cooling at 2.4 and 1.5 vcore. 40C idle/55C load. 4x HTT, with no ram divider. I'm not really going to try and take it any further, but it seems like it could easily enough. A8V deluxe by the way
I just got these both for christmas and built my system.
Lets see, I had it at 244 and stress tested for 8 hours with no problems. I have 1gb corsair xms. Right now I am stress testing (writing this from school) it at 266 fsb, and it was fine when i checked it after 8hours. I'm going to let...
I have the 939 3000+ and dual channel is already enabled so I'm just waiting for my friend to give me XP, and for my dual layer dvd drive to come. thanks for the help!
I ran into a similar dilemma with my k8v deluxe. All you should do is run one stick for the time being, update your bios to whatever is newest (1009 or something) and it should fix everything up.
well it turned out that until the BIOS was updated the mobo can't run dual channel so i took one stick out (after reassembling the whole thing lol) and it booted up like a charm. so now everything is in place and working and my first build is nearly complete :)
