I have never mentioned Prime95. 172W is Anandtechs numbers from running Cinebench R20.

What Anandtech used for the 3700X review I don't know, I dont find it listed in their review. Max package power for 3700x is 88W.
Techspot lists 164W...
Are you saying they should test $1500 worth of gear for a measly 25x16 resolution? What's the point? If you spend that much on so much and game on 25x16, no matter what any Amd solution will be better.
On point 2, try to read the review before you try to defend nVidia:
$1500 worth of...
Not to derail the thread, but your reading that nVidia marketing chart wrong. The increase in perf/watt is from TESLA to Kepler. Aka Gtx280-285.
That means they brag about increasing the performance per watt only 4 times even when the process node has undergone two full node shrinks. Each...
Can you find me a price on such a card? Haven't been able to find a single card. Thx in advance.
I find it here where I live, but it is much more expensive. ( 4495nok(3gb) vs 3595nok(1,5gb))
Thats a 25% increase in price.. So it wouldn't fit in the $1000 dollar bracket.
You do realize if the tri fire was working harder, the would beat the 580 sli with even more? I would like to see a reference to another site to back up your assertions/allegations. Plz post showing this to be wrong.
And nice to see that you are more competent than the staff at H. I look...
Except that the 580sli/570sli/6970cf/6950cf review on H shows that the 570 becomes framebuffer limited at such a resolution. I my mind serves me correct, on one of the thests the 570 sli came out on 4,5 fps while even the 6950cf did 45ish fps.
So I will not agree, I think the 570 tri sli...
No idea, but this is what they write:
"The gist of it all is to install the latest firmware from Nvidia's website and at all costs avoid the driver that comes in the box, which reportedly is precisely the wrong version 267.52. Those who are planning to overclock should also be sure to have...
Hmmm...
Look as his post in the other thread, notice the time stamps. Poor guy.

Ouch.. But lots of nice info in that thread.
So is Vantage and 3dmark11 also "flagged" by OCP? Or is it only OCP kicking in and limiting clock to stock whatever is set in afterburner?
Someone in the thread over at [H] has an overclock set in afterburner, but while running Vantage and 3dmark11 his clocks were reduced to stock...
I will not agree on this. People around the web are reporting that the new driver from nVidia is seriously throttling the 590 at around 550MHz. It will be more interesting to see if the performance goes down. I hope Anandtech has the guts to see if the performance goes down, but I doubt it.
Read it and weep.

excerpt from the nVidia bulletin:
"any overclocking/overvoltaging can void your manufacturer's product warranty."
And Bta is not happy:
"Now NV is hiding behind the warranty void bullshit instead...
According to sweclockers the 590 looses its warranty if oc'ed too... To bad.
"Den som planerar att överklocka bör dessutom se till att ha god ventilation i chassit och vara medveten om att garantin inte gäller om frekvenserna höjs över specifikationerna."
You can translate it...
Sweclockers used the drivers in the box. nVidia shipped the wrong drivers. Ouch!
TPU used drivers in box too.
"According to NVIDIA this should not happen. In their official reviewer driver (which I used), the NVIDIA Power limit is designed to be active for all applications, not only Furmark."...
