What error message are you getting with the BSOD? I had a similar problem on a recent system that finally turned out to be due to a faulty IDE cable running to the hard drive. The specific error message will provide more information as to what the problem might be.

Unless you can scrounge some additional RAM from other old systems or you feel like coughing up some dough, you would probably be best served running Linux on that box. However, for about 30 bucks and some change you could slap 256MB of PC133 RAM in there and it should run XP reasonably well...
OK. After trying all of the above suggestions except a stick of PC2700 RAM (none was available :(), I began systematically replacing each piece of hardware until eventually I got the system to work. The only change was in trying an old 4gig hard drive. The 80 gig that was originally in the...
The only information on the hard drive now is the setup files. When the computer boots, it is trying to continue setup of WinXP Pro, so I have no option of a minimal boot or changing any drivers for XP.
Any other ideas?

Nice display, but you would think that for $3k apple would throw in the capability for height adjustment. Like I would want to destroy such a thing of beauty with a monitor riser lol. Give it a few more months and there will be other, more healthy alternatives for PC users I bet - DM

I was actually wanting to try and run the PC100 RAM at PC133 speeds. I know that much of the newer DDR modules are capable of speeds beyond that of what they are labeled - I just don't have much experience with older RAM in this regard. I suppose if this won't work that I may still be better...
