The thing that fixed it for me was lowering my displays refresh rate to 60Hz. Now it works like a champ. Because it's a CRT, I just have to put up with the black border since I have my res and everything set up for my desktop...

Trust me - 2GB will help alot with texture loads. I didn't even suggest 2GB in HL2 or D3, but this game will eat it up...
