If I was to choose either higher refresh rate or higher resolution, which do you think is better? Higher resolution = better image quality obviously. Higher refresh rate = smoother gameplay, less screen tearing.
Hmm...decisions, decisions.
Currently I am gaming at a 1920x1080p monitor at 60hz with a OC'd 7950. I am very tempted to buy the Qnix qx2710 with 2560x1440p and overclock-able to 120hz.
I will need another 7950 to crossfire and a new PSU because my current psu doesn't have enough pci-e connector for crossfire (SeaSonic...
What is the percentage of PC users do you think overclock both or either of their GPU and CPU? I asked because I never overclock in my first build because I thought it was too complicated and didn't want any problems.
I'd say less than 10%.
Does afterburner also use CPU resource? Or just RAM?
I've read reports of it affecting performance because custom fan profile and gpu monitoring can be quite resource intensive. Especially when you have a custom fan profile with fan speed that changes continuously as temperature changes.
For...
I am using that option now and my gpu is definitely not running at OC when at the desktop. It only runs OC when in 3D application and downclock when idle.
So definitely not what you said
There is an option "apply overclock at system startup" on the lower left corner:
I thought this option allows you to retain your overclock setting at system startup without having afterburner running.
I mean, what is the point of this option if you have to start afterburner everytime for...
Does anyone know if you need MSI Afterburner running at startup to enable the overclocks you set?
I don't need afterburner for monitoring anymore so am thinking of disabling it at startup to free up some system usage. I don't think it takes much resource to run but still want to have as less...
I did something like this except with a drinking straw. I wanted to use something wooden but it'll be hard to cut to the right length ( I don't have the right cutting tool).
However, I'd be weary of the pencil lead because I believe it's quite conductive. I might be wrong though.
I am using a drinking straw, cut to length, to prop up the card on one end. But I am not sure if I should worry about electrical charge. I don't think drinking straw has high electrical conductivity. But I am not so sure so I want to ask the experts here.
The straw touches the bottom of the...
Does anyone know how durable is the PCB part of the graphics card that fits into the PCI express slot? I am talking about the part with the copper strips where you insert into the slot.
And how durable are the PCI-e slots?
I asked because I am worried that I might break of chip something...
