well I now have the cards installed and both drivers are running without conflicts. i can hear sound out of both speakers one at a time when i switch the default audio device, just havent figured out how to use them simultaniously. ps. Does WinAmp play video? I thought it only played audio.

ok i reinstalled my motherboard drivers and the sound works again, but i still cant see other computers on my network. any suggestions? ----added later----- nevermind my audio drivers still arn't working!!!! Please HELP!!!!

sounds to me like the browser plugin for Acrobat Reader has corrupted. try to uninstall acrobat reader and reinstall it.

i take it you are using windows xp? have you installed anything recently, hardware or software? maybe a driver was corrupted? if not and barring any other pretinant information i would say format and reinstall windows.

well i tried firefox. it is nice but it didnt fix the problem. so i tried winsockipfix. the internet seems to be working but now i cannot see any of the computers on my local network and when i try to repair the network connection it gives me an error that it cant renew the ip address and...

just a suggestion, but have you checked your network cable. I get that error all the time and it is usually a short on one end or the other.
