i have an eternal HD too but I use USB connection. Is it still safe to just turn it off or should i use the "safely remove hardware" way?

sorry was looking at the wrong router its the WRT54GX w/ SRT. Also i dont have a phone line going through the router. I do have cable. I dont even have a home phone. Its all cell phones. lol.

If someone calls or text msgs it messes up my connection. Anyway to fix this? I have a Linksys WRT54G3G-AT. But my computer is not wireless. Im using a network cable.
