EPoX "EP-9NPA+Ultra" NVIDIA nForce4 ULTRA Chipset Motherboard

Glad to hear everyone's successes, and just to follow suit (despite former personal issues), the USB freezing problem appears to be OVER! SWEET!

You can't; you are a waste of space, Mem. You haven't done anything for these people and you simply can't. You also just ruined it for them by cursing at me, something I have not done at all to you. No longer will I post on this forum because of you, and if I find out even more information, I...

Considering you JUST edited the question and that was not how it was when I posted, I have every reason to be confused by a question that was NOT clear.

Huh? English please! I think you just asked me whether I tried a powered USB hub, and since I believe those need to plugged into a functional USB 2.0 port, that would not work for me. And I plugged my adapter into my LCD monitor's ports, and froze up. So that does not work.

I believe I already acknowledged that... But just because some people don't have issues with X2 processors, does not mean that the issue does not reside with people who have X2 processors ONLY. Just try to find one person with this board and an Athlon 64 (non-X2) and PROBLEMS WITH USB 2.0! I...

MEM - It is a 100% an X2 problem; you don't have to believe me, and since you are the only one who doesn't have a problem, there is no point dwelling on your case. Check out those links if you don't believe me. At least over at Abit's forums, some people don't have problems apparently, but...

Attention! Been doing a ton of research on the issue and will know more once I do some calling to other manufacturers such as MSI, ECS, and Shuttle which each produced boards with the SAME EXACT problem, but they also came up with BIOSes that had SOLUTIONS!!! One thing I know now is that...

Can everyone who bought a USB 2.0 PCI card that works for them please post what brand and model and maybe where they bought it???? (My Startech is not fixing the problem so I wanna see if another brand will work) Thanks in advance!!!

EPoX "EP-9NPA+Ultra" NVIDIA nForce4 ULTRA Chipset Motherboard

I bought this board from Newegg, no problems with the board other than USB 2.0 woes, and those are tolerable considering I have options to get around them for now. Yes, people complained of dead boards but if that happens, you can always have them send you another and another and while it's a...

EPoX "EP-9NPA+Ultra" NVIDIA nForce4 ULTRA Chipset Motherboard

Just tried my Linksys adapter with SMART disabled, and everything was fine until a minute ago when my adapter plugged into the PCI card froze up. While it wasn't plugged into the motherboard's ports, I figured it'd be easier to test since when connected to the PCI card it only freezes my device...

EPoX "EP-9NPA+Ultra" NVIDIA nForce4 ULTRA Chipset Motherboard

RobbyG - I believe my board that I bought from Newegg in late October is rev 1.1 but I could be wrong (def is rev 1.x) so I don't think multiple revs are out there. I am starting to wonder about S.M.A.R.T. enabled devices and their role with USB 2.0 since currently I have SMART enabled...

EPoX "EP-9NPA+Ultra" NVIDIA nForce4 ULTRA Chipset Motherboard

Ok, I am at a loss for my issue here... (kinda off-topic sorry) My Linksys WirelessG USB 2.0 card seems to work fine with USB 1.1, but with my new Startech USB 2.0 PCI card, the device freezes on me... Since I was not alone with the freezings with Epox's USB 2.0 ports, I assumed the problem...

@curran I currently had/have high temps compared to others with the X2 3800+ but in reality the processor can go up to 70'C according to the AMD I spoke with so you really have nothing to worry about. I have an XP-90 with a 1200rpm Yate Loon 120mm fan, and I idle around 35'C at 1.36V (10x200...

EPoX "EP-9NPA+Ultra" NVIDIA nForce4 ULTRA Chipset Motherboard

RideFree The USB 2.0 prob isn't really related to the front connectors for me at least. I currently have USB 2.0 enabled with a case cable going to my motherboard and all is well since I don't have any higher-speed devices plugged in to any of my motherboard ports (only a 2.0 PCI card)...

Look Mem, I know you are just reporting on your experience, but WE GET IT ALREADY!!! You have no problems, congratulations!!! Jeez, I have heard it a thousand times, but that doesn't help matters, you are not telling us anything new. Since it is not just me, and Epox is working on a solution...
