I am planning to reformat my WD120 Gb and Seagate Cheetah SCSI hdds, and I am currently running WinXP Pro on my Western Digital and have my games on my SCSI. I assume installing Windows on the SCSI would increase overall performance, but my SCSI is 36 Gbs and it would take up most of the space...

Well, I think I have a solution: I decided to just install windows to my 36gb Seagate Cheetah SCSI HD. That way nothing on the other hard drive will be lost and windows will hopefully run faster on the SCSI.

Ok, I'll do this. After I reinstall Windows what exactly will be lost? I know I'll have to update again, but will it affect any of my programs or saved files? Thanks for the help.

I put in my new MSI k8N Neo Platinum and AMD Athlon 64 3200+, and when it came time for Windows XP to load a message came up that said C:\windows\inf\biosinfo.inf had been corrupted. How could this have happened? How can I repair this file?

I just put in an Adaptec DuoConnect USB and Firewire PCI card into my computer and when I pressed the power button there was a flash from the power supply and smoke came out that smelled like burnt plastic. I'm guessing this was my power supply burning out because I had to many devices plugged...

:confused: I checked all physical connections and everything is as it should be. The SCSI ID is 0 (default) and the SCSI Controller is 7. I haven't messed with the jumpers at all. The only thing I can think of is maybe a faulty SCSI cable or terminator. I will try another to check on this...
