A client of mine just lost two day's worth of work and $1400 worth of tech support due to a virus that McAfee didn't catch. Yes, they were running the most current definitions. We switched to Norton 2002.

Cool, I wonder if they'll honor the 20% off coupon with these specials. The coupon is in certain geographic area's copies of ComputerUser magazine, usually you can pick it up for free here and there. I'm in Minneapolis, and they are all over.

Cool, I could run my DSL modem and 8-port 3Com switch off one of these for about a half an hour. Good to keep internet connection up when the power goes off... and who cares about computer backup power when you've got a laptop? :)

USB is limited to 12 Mbps, so even if these are capable of 10/100 speeds, they're basically 10 Mbps cards. Still a good deal, though, especially for people with the 3Com Audrey or I-Openers.
