For a short question on your post Athlon64SSE3, Did you look in the SYSTEM log or the APPLICATION log. From your response, that looks like the application log you looked at.

I would be real interested in seeing your solution to this. You need to look in your windows logs (XP SP2?) and look at the Event Viewer - System logs. In mine, I can see where the "Controller Failed" on the disk. My problem and system are a little different than yours so I won't stress you...
