I bet its just counting tflops since base PS5 is just old RDNA2.
but outside of performance expectations, 48cu of a next gen GPU running at 160w isn't remotely that far fetched
I mean what is the relative performance of RDNA 2 to RDNA4? Its about 2x at iso clocks isn't it? should be pretty...
Why isn't it a problem for Apple and their LLCs?
Idk how much AMD marketing is really applicable to reality/Intel, none of these companies really want to give all the details. Its easy to say signaling distance without giving any numbers.
If they do have two dies for UDNA maybe the AI die is also useable as a flagship gaming GPU and radeon pro. FP64 is already cut down in radeon cards as is, and it would make them more cost effective since dies get more re-use.
In the late 70s they were competing with commercial only companies, and they were buying the same chips those companies were using. And by 1984 the mac wasn't different from competitor computers other than in form factor and price.
So you're saying we can all blame Apple for the immense delays...
I have looked at dozens of benchmarks on a certain competitor platform (THAT OBJECTIVELY HAS MORE MT PERF) that supports both DDR4 and DDR5, and have not ever found a single real world benchmark that has massive difference. Ergo AMD (or any other vendor) with a particular memory BW/latency...
If Zen 6 comes with a new IOD I would be very surprised if AMD actually ditches it within a single generation.
There are non-zero odds that there isn't a new IOD with Zen 6. And that would make sense if the timelines for DDR6 production line up for Z7.
It's 2025 and people in these threads don't know how AMD cpus are organized? really? They've had memory controller on the IOD since Zen 2.
These threads are all so sus these days idk why I even read them.
And also like, the real limitation is just having enough pins, they would need a new...
You know it takes people working jobs for companies like dell to ship billions of dollars of units right? And I would bet a lot you don't actually know someone that was truly replaced by AI. Don't even get me started on the crazy concept of AI disinfrancising artists either, AI has been a core...
if I weren't a gamer I would still be using windows 7 on my main PC; most of our computers at work literally run w7 because its faster and less likely to randomly install wrong drivers and do updates during production.
Even with pro licences and group policy, I have still seen windows update...
They did this so its the opposite of a pain for them. Instead of having one big engineering team only focus on one node, they can get experience and time on advanced nodes that will wind up being bog standard in a year or two. Also they have a customer base for the dense dies, and fabbing them...
