I'd have to disagree. I have both a 640MB and 320MB card, both running on 1680x1050 monitors (just short of 16*12) and I rarely notice a difference between the two. 95% of the time they run at the exact same settings, and the other 5% I might just have to run MSAA over SSAA to keep things nice...

A 7600GT would be a great option for you. Another upgrade I might look at is maybe investing in 2 GB if you haven't already considered it. Vista loves to eat up your RAM.
