Well you can do it, read that link, it's easy, i just need to figure out why im getting the delay, since i get no delay using a encoding on the fly with acc to ac3 using ffdshow and media players.

No, can only encode AC3 and DTS, the soundcard needs to out put a AC3 5.1 signal through SPDIF then i can get 5.1 in PC games. Since PC games use uncompressed dolby digital, which is why you get LIVE dolby digital soundcards that encode them.

Since my receiver can only encode DTS/AC3, i have to use ffdshow to encode AAC 5.1 HD content on the fly with GOM Player. Surely u should be able to do the same with PC games? using AC3Filter, FFDshow or something? please reply, thanx.

Of course that is too true, but lets face it, the best graphical games from 2005/6 on PC look nowhere near as good as what some titles do on the 360, or even ps3. Isn't gameplay more important than graphics anyway? Why don't ya just wait 5yrs and then we'l be playing photo realistic games.

I rarely game that's the thing, that's why I appreciate the effort put into some games on consoles using what limits they have. Even with the once top hardware like perhaps a core i7 extreme at 4Ghz, tri channel ram, a gtx480 etc, no games are taking advantage of it, they are building a game...
