OK this should be a simple answer for many . . . I am building a fast machine that will be used as a DAW ( music recording) - lot's of power hungry plugins . . but I am setting this up with 4 monitors - and do it inexpensively . . . I had compatibility issues with many sets of newer graphics...

No don't have it yet - I won the auction and still haven't paid for it, cheap around $200 or for 350/400 I can get C2D.

Hello Thanks for taking the time . . . if you are in hurry just answer which cpu is faster and by how much??? If you have a few minutes more - read on . . . I spent a couple of hours trying to decide which one of these cpus are faster and by how much % wise - looked at many benchmarks...

Thanks in advance - trying to replace a asus DAV center (athlon 3800+ nvidea 6150 le built in mobo) with a new htpc - so far Dish network HD satellite signal has been very choppy even though they said it was built for HD. I don't know if the cpu or the gpu is the reason - so I am selling that...
