I've had problems too. Never pinned it down. Seems to happen more when in borderless windowed mode. After a complete windows reinstall it hasn't happened yet. Running AMD hardware.

I've had horrible luck with phones...NONE OF THEM BREAK... I've thrown phones into the ground and they'll still be perfectly fine. I have never had a cracked screen. Tile, Carpet, Pavement. Blackberry Storm - rock solid. Droid Bionic - solid. These phones that I hate are built well.

Check to see if you have Clear coverage in that area. I've been using it for a month now and it's great. Much better prices than Verizon or ATT.
