    5870 HDMI Issues

So... I feel as helpless as can be right now, but for some reason I cannot figure out how to get the 5870 I'm using to output via HDMI. Here's the situation: I have dual DVI displays that I normally use, and I want to be able to disable one of my dvi displays and start using HDMI (for...

    HDTV Upgrade: 32" to 55"

Ha, sorry. I should be more specific from now on. I have other places to keep the boxes. Family lives only an hour away. They provide my moving vehicles anyway. Yeah, the whole distance thing is hard to guage right now, as I don't know the setup yet. But I know I sit at least 8 ft from my 32...

    HDTV Upgrade: 32" to 55"

What I mean is that I have two 1080P PC monitors, and this will likely be hooked up as a third monitor. So when using it connected to the PC the monitors will all be the same resolution. It will mostly be used with 1080P sources (blu-ray), and hardly ever 480P. I also always keep the original...

    HDTV Upgrade: 32" to 55"

Well, I could be sitting closer than 13'. I haven't been to the new place to arrange it yet. It may end up being around 8' again. Gotta love jumping apartments every 6 months or so. I definitely want to go with 1080P, partially because my PC monitors are 1080P, so it scales perfectly. And the...

    HDTV Upgrade: 32" to 55"

So here's the deal. I have a 32" Samsung 720p LCD, and I'm looking to buy something in the 50"+ range. I'm curious what the best route to go would be to upgrade, budgeting around 2000 give or take a couple hundred. I'm intrigued by the Samsung LED LCDs, but are they worth the extra price...

    5770 Artifacting / System Crash

I ran memtest with no errors. I tried setting the voltage on the memory manually, and it seemed like the problem was worsened by doing this. It as artifacting immediately after boot rather than under use.

    right mouse button mystery

Sounds like a problem with explorer.exe or some system files. Maybe a virus caused some sort of corruption. Have you reinstalled Windows since? Also, can you get into the task manager after ctrl-alt-del? If you can, you can end the explorer.exe process, then go File->New Task and type...

    5770 Artifacting / System Crash

Updated with another crashing issue. I don't think it's the drivers causing the problem.

    ATI Drivers, Artifacting Issue

I just bought an ATI 5770 and installed it with a fresh version of Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I'm having some artifacting issues after playing games and a crash during Borderlands. Is there somewhere I can go to get ATI beta drivers or older drivers to do testing with? Also, I had problems...

    5770 Artifacting / System Crash

Okay, I'm going to update the post with more detailed information, because this has become an expensive, ridiculous problem.

    5770 Artifacting / System Crash

UPDATE: I was using iTunes today, and my system appeared to... kind of crash. It appeared to have froze (the mouse wouldn't move, no response to keyboard, and the song progress bar was not moving), but my music continued to play. Does this help lead to a solution? Okay, so I've had some what...

    LCD Help

I think if you use it for movies, you'll find something other than a TN panel most beneficial. I have two 22" Dell TN panels and they are good, but it's often hard to sit at the right angle to get good picture quality for a movie. Viewing angle would probably be my main concern with TN panels...

    LCD Help

I don't personally own one, but I am familiar with them, and they do have noticeably better picture quality and viewing angle then the TN panel (better color reproduction, saturation, etc). The things you gain with TN panels however are speed (virtually no ghosting now a days) and price. It's...

    need help diagnosing a problem

I went with the Asus P5Ql pro, but that's because I didn't want to invest too much in a motherboard that will probably get replaced in the next year anyway. Gigabyte's are generally really nice, but I have had good luck with Asus as well. Definitely up to you though.
