Budget Gaming Build - No AMD Love?

Given that my primary purpose is gaming for this PC, are there reviews specifically comparing FPS on games with identical video cards between AMD and Intel? Like Planetside 2 is limited by CPU power. Which is going to net more FPS in games, and is more than 3. At Microcenter, the price...

Budget Gaming Build - No AMD Love?

That is what I think I'm going with, my wife doesn't play insane games, but I looked into the cost of the Phenom II 940, which is what the mobo support tops out at and its pretty minimal for the boost it will give. Going to slide the current build to her after picking up a cheaper PSU and case...

Budget Gaming Build - No AMD Love?

I've been under the impression that unless you buy an un-OC'able Xeon, you can't really get away from some part of integrated graphics... The dedicated GPU on the AMD still isn't going to compete with any of the dedicated graphics cards.. so I would still be buying a GPU, AMD or Intel..

Budget Gaming Build - No AMD Love?

Yea, I dunno if my budget went up without realizing it over the years, or if what a budget system was is different now.. I remember all of my other builds were considered budget gamer builds.. I think it's because processors have been stagnant for so long that $300 for a mobo + CPU is now high...

Budget Gaming Build - No AMD Love?

The number of GPU's between $150 and ~$250 is staggering.

Budget Gaming Build - No AMD Love?

I'm not committed to any one, I just want the best I can get for the money I want to spend. I'll probably venture to perusing the GPU forum to see what I can learn. Trying to knock out a decision on the CPU since my brother is near a MC and visiting soon. I think I've decided on picking up...

Budget Gaming Build - No AMD Love?

That's sort of what I was looking for, is there any purpose to delaying. When reading I've found so many people saying the chips have not improved much with the introduction of Haswell, so the question was.. is it time to buy now or should I do something to put it off until the next round comes...

Budget Gaming Build - No AMD Love?

Maybe my idea of what I spent in the past has changed, but yes, I was comparing the 4670K + mobo deal at Microcenter versus the option of dropping the Phenom II in. I don't have an issue with spending $300 on the pair, so with that in mind is the Phenom II really still a decent chip because it...

Budget Gaming Build - No AMD Love?

Yeah, that is it. When those chips came out I swear it didn't support it so i didn't think to look back. It looks like it goes up to the 940 which isn't too bad. Still limited to DDR2 though. Would this be good with a 7870 or 7950 to run for another year.. or are chips basically at their...

Budget Gaming Build - No AMD Love?

I tend to buy my PC and then forget about the scene for years until mine is past its prime.. but it seems like for a while Intel is completely dominant. Is there any hope for an AMD system these days (I always budget build and that meant AMD the last two systems). I've got a Phenom 9850 Black...

    Shimian 27 or Dual 24?

    Shimian 27 or Dual 24?

I'm stuck trying to decide what setup is more favorable. I primarily play gaming casually, watch movies, and web browse. I'm interested in being able to have something like LoL up and still be able to view other windows while the game is up.. but I don't mind playing windowed if that would...

Will my 320 watt PS handle a GTX 670 GPU?

Are the OCZ modstream any good? They have the 600W for $50 AR right now at Newegg. I doubt I'll do huge over clocks, but I don't want to pick up a Capstone 450W and find myself short.

Will my 320 watt PS handle a GTX 670 GPU?

Are 450W really sufficient for 7870 or 660ti plus OC'd 3570k and the like? I'm looking at the Capstone 750 or ModXStream 600 since newegg has it for $50.. but while trying to find info on brands, I keep running across the idea that I have no need for the higher wattage.. I doubt I will ever...

(DEAD) Mitsubishi 60" 1080P HDTV $640 at Dell after 20% Bing Cashback (Smokin Deal)

I believe Mitsu ONLY offers 60+ sets now because of the price fall of LCD/Plasma. But at 60" for $640.. LCD/Plasma doesn't even approach that cost vs. size.
