Just a follow-up... I think it ended up being my RAM... I finally got my hands on some different RAM and now it runs flawlessly... or as flawless as 1 stick of 256mb PC2100 can run... YAY... devilfish

AGP is a very simple thing... I have never seen a computer that didn't have one... i NEVER KNEW OF SUCH A THING... my P.O.S. dell runs my 9800pro (tried it for troubleshooting)... I know it's not supposed to be a gaming machine... BUT it should at least be able to run Day of Defeat... my laptop...

friend bought a HP... couldn't play games at all.. got new vid card... but the damn thing doesn't have an AGP SLOT!! WHAT A LOAD OF $h!t!

personally, i love my 9800 pro... but looks like im in the minority... I play CS:S on highest settings too without a hitch... both good cards... i just got a thing for radeon i guess

i guess to be safe... i am reformatting and reinstalling windows... we'll see how this goes!

I'm installing XP with SP1 on Sata 160gig Maxtor on a brand new computer that I just put together... It says that setup has 34 minutes before completion and that it's installing devices BUT it hasn't progressed in the last hour. The screen that tells you many exciting facts about XP keeps...

cpu is seated properly... i did it to make sure... when i did so.. i had to reapply Arctic Silver 5...

i replaced the PSU... but my pc is frozen at the first "mobo" screen... It's either the MOBO or the CPU, which one should I RMA?
