I did the two i have without AHCI and worked.

I have two of these drives i did the firmware updates on. On my pc it found the drive and updated ok except seeing the high heat readings. The other at first would not find the drive at all come to find out the nvidia controller drivers where the cause. On my pc i had already changed them back...
