My two laptops, a P133 and a P150, have screwy power saving detection; they both think that the battery is uncharged for the first few seconds, after that they are fine for a couple of hours. I had to turn off the 'power off on low battery' in the bios to run on battery power. I don't know...

It fits fine, I have one on with a fan on either side without a problem. I don't see the copper plate as an issue.

In the initial setup there is a choice between microphone, cd audio, line-in, aux, TAD-in, or what you here (?). If you pick line-in the audio will go through the regular line-in on the sound card...

I voted LAN for close to the same reason as eagle, a no-name NE2000 PC card that i have never ever been able to get to work in windows. Of course that is just the tip of the iceburg of general PCMCIA problems..

I would have to say yes. I have two laptops, one an acer P150 with a 2mb vidcard and the other a whitebox P133 with a 1mb vidcard, and have had linux work fine on both. That is an ample harddrive, I have installed on a 500mb drive before, you just end up leaving behind some bigger things, which...

It works just fine in practice. A VCR does have a tuner.
