Yes i did this. Works fine. Just boot into dos, and exe the p4p81001.exe -- and its all automagic. :) When i checked what bios verison, the release bios file name doesnt change from 1008.004 -- until 1009!

Exactly what happend to me, i havnt yet updated to 1008 i still have the 1008.004 bios, but am updating now.

Heya, I had this same problem, You have to reset the CMOS. Take out the power plug/Take out the battery/reset the Jumper then put it all back in, works after that.
